Our comprehensive offerings include general practice clinics, health screenings, work development programmes, Aboriginal disability liaison support, and coordination of visiting services. With a team of regular GPs, nurses, and Aboriginal Health Practitioners, we ensure that each service is tailored to meet the unique needs of our community members.

Opportunity:

The Aboriginal Health Education Officer is an identified role which plays a vital role in promoting health education and awareness within the Aboriginal community in Quirindi, New South Wales and across the Liverpool Plains. This position is essential for fostering a culturally sensitive approach to health education, ensuring that the unique needs of the community are met. The officer will work collaboratively with local health services and community organisations to enhance health outcomes and empower individuals through knowledge and resources.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement health education programs, workshops and seminars tailored to the Aboriginal community and available health services.
• Network and liaise with other service providers to ensure a coordinated approach to health service delivery.to ensure culturally appropriate health resources are provided.
• Assist in the evaluation and improvement of health education initiatives.
• Engage with community members to gather feedback and assess health education needs.
• Facilitate adult and youth programs and mentoring
• Maintain accurate records of activities and report on program outcomes.
• Transport patients to health providers

About You:

• Certificate III in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or willing to work
• Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and health issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting
• Current WWCC
• Current Police Check
